ABOUT THE ARCHIVE

What is Kahaniyan?

Kahaniyan — meaning 'stories' in Urdu — is a digital archive of horror fiction. Every story here was submitted by a writer who claims the events were real. We neither confirm nor deny.

THE MISSION

Stories that survive.

Most horror is invented. Ours might not be. Kahaniyan exists to preserve accounts that fall between fiction and testimony — stories too strange for newspapers, too specific to be coincidence. If something happened to you that you cannot explain, and you need someone to believe you, this is where it goes.

THE CATEGORIES

What lives in the archive.

The archive is divided into five categories: Haunted (old places, older sins), Psychological (what the mind creates when it breaks), Folk Horror (rooted in the earth and its oldest traditions), True Nightmares (accounts submitted as real experiences), and Possession (something else behind the eyes). Every story is tagged, filed, and waiting.

THE RULES

How stories get in.

Every story in this archive is submitted by a writer. Some use their real names. Most do not. We do not verify claims of truth — that is for you to decide. Stories are reviewed for quality and published when they are ready. If you have a story that belongs here, you know what to do.

THE MAKER

Who built this.

Kahaniyan was built by a developer who reads too much and sleeps too little. It runs on Next.js, pulls stories from a Google Sheet updated by hand, and is deployed on Vercel. No team. No investors. Just one person and a lot of dark fiction.
